The Emba Derho deposit is a "World Class" sized VMS deposit with an indicated at resource of nearly 50 million tonnes containing 1.7 billion pounds of zinc, 735 million pounds of copper, and 402,000 ounces of gold. A preliminary assessment (scoping) study is currently being completed on the Emba Derho Deposit by Wardrop Engineering and is expected to be complete by September 2008. The study will include updating the resource estimate, incorporating expansion and delineation drilling the has been completed since the initial resource was calculated in the fall of 2007.
Location and Access
The Emba Derho Deposit is easily accessed by paved road 15 km from Asmara, the capital city. The area has power lines and a good supply of water. There is a rail line, as well as a paved road to the port of Massawa. The established infrastructure and good location of the project have potential to reduce development costs and future operating cost significantly.
Current Resource
The current resource estimate at Emba Derho was completed by MSA Geoservices Ltd, an independent and internationally operating geological consultancy firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 requirements.
Note: Resource estimate will be updated as part of scoping study (summer 2008) to include expansion drilling completed since initial resource was calculated.
